Thomsonfly helps getaway groom to snag £30,000 dream wedding

At 8:00am this morning, Andrew Wagg was announced winner of the Ram FM Getaway Groom endurance competition. Andrew, who flew on a return flight to Alicante from Doncaster Robin Hood Airport, provided by Thomsonfly, has won a £30,000 dream wedding. The two grooms in the competition had just 24 hours to get as far away from the radio station in Derby as possible.

To help the lucky couple celebrate, Thomson are throwing in a dream honeymoon for seven nights to their new 5 star resort, Sensatori*. Sensatori is Thomson's new resort in Crete and offers a 'honeymoon for the senses' which has been designed around the idea of satori, a term that loosely translates as 'the wow moment'. The resort is opening in May 2008 and will be home to one of the largest spas in Greece.

Deborah Horner, Communications Coordinator at Robin Hood Airport said, "Naturally the Airport is delighted to have been able to help Andrew win his dream wedding. The flight to Alicante, which is one of the 20 destinations that is served from Robin Hood Airport by our main airline operator Thomsonfly, was the furthest we could get him away to after he arrived at the Airport yesterday. Thomsonfly were more than happy to offer free return flights to help them win the prize."

When he arrived back at Robin Hood Airport today, a delighted Andrew said, "We have been overwhelmed with everyone's help right from the start. When we arrived at Robin Hood Airport the first person we saw was a lady member of the Airport staff with a smiling face who put is in touch with the Thomsonfly staff at the Airport who were able to help us. The Airport has been absolutely fantastic and, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't have been able to win this prize enabling me to give my fiancé the wedding of her dreams."
