Thomson/First Choice cancel holidays to Kenya

Holidays to Kenya cancelled for this winter season

Update - Thomson/First Choice Statement: Kenya

Holidays cancelled for departures up to the end of April 2008

The FCO’s (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) advice against non-essential travel to Kenya due to the continuing potential threat of unrest in certain areas has been updated as of Saturday 19 January 2008 and the overall level of advice has been lowered.

However, given the advice is still against all but essential travel to large parts of Kenya and as the security and political situation in the country remains unpredictable, the decision has been taken to cancel both the First Choice and Thomson charter flight operation to Mombassa, Kenya for the winter season.

On 20th January, Thomsonfly flight TOM3228 returned with our remaining charter customers, flight crew and resort staff to the UK. This was the last charter flight to operate this season.

All customers with bookings due to depart up to the end of April 2008 will be contacted by customer services and will be offered an alternative holiday or free cancellation and refund at nil administration fee. Any additional holiday cost will be payable by the customer.

A small number of schedule bookings remain in Kenya, and they will return as per original travel itineraries.

Dedicated customer helplines have been set up for both First Choice and Thomson:

Thomson: 0870 241 4102
First Choice: 0871 200 4455
