"Near the southwestern tip of Tenerife is one of the island's main coastal attractions, the resort of Playa de las Americas. Playa de las Americas, 17.5km south of Reina Sofia airport, is a modern playground with an international atmosphere - perfect for families as well as young couples and groups of friends. The beaches are popular, watersports are brilliant and there's a waterpark (and the buses to it are free!). There is an 18 hole golf course with views towards the resort centre and the sea, an ideal location made even more attractive for a round of golf as it is protected from the wind by a nearby mountain range.
