Welcome to golf country. At the heart of the Golf del Sur lies a 27-hole championship course, with striking bunkers of black volcanic sand, and fairways lined with palms, cacti and local flora. An idyllic setting whether you're playing an international championship, or simply enjoying a round of holiday golf. There's a driving range for serious practice and crazy golf for the less serious player, too. And if one course simply isn't enough, it's no distance to the Amarillo course where you can enjoy fabulous views of Mount Teide while you play. However there's more to Golf del Sur than just golf. In the San Blas centre there's an abundance of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. But you won't find the type of party atmosphere here that you might expect in neighbouring resorts – the mood is quieter and more family orientated, with free entertainment laid on in the squares every evening. If you do crave dance-a-thon nights, then it's only 15 minutes to Playa De Las Americas and Los Christianos. It's a pretty walk along the rocky seafront from the harbour to the beach and you can choose your evening restaurant on the way. Other daytime pursuits for the non-golfer include watersports, horse riding and deep sea fishing. If you prefer to watch the windsurfers rather than join them, the sandy beach at Medano 8 kilometres away is a great spot to view the experts.
