An introduction to Casa Nova
Tucked away on a narrow lane behind pine trees and large double gates is this low-level whitewashed villa. It's in a quiet spot in between Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa, so if you're after a relaxing getaway, it's ideal. Typically Majorcan on the outside, it opens up to a mix of vintage and modern styles on the inside.
Step inside and you'll find an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. Looks-wise it's all whitewashed walls with decorative plates, beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. Add comfy blue sofas, soft lighting and rustic-style furniture and you've got a place to feel instantly at home in. Plus there are modern luxuries like a TV and DVD player, too. As for the bedrooms, they've been done out in a style that exudes simple elegance. It's the bed in the double room that really steals the show though. A grand carved affair dressed in plump white linen, it wouldn't look out of place in a Medieval manor house.
Outside, meanwhile, you've got a shaded terrace that's perfect for dining. It leads out on to a sun terrace which comes with a barbecue. But the winning factor here is the pool. It's a generous rectangular number with Roman steps at one end and sunbeds set beside it.
