Figueretas is actually a suburb of booming Ibiza Town, but its got a feel all of its own. Unlike the busy cobbled streets of the centre, Figueretas focuses on relaxation. Stretch out on the sandy central beach, or in one of the smaller neighbouring bays. Cool off in the crystal waters and snorkel in the startling blue. Figueretas' beaches may not be the best in the world, but they do what it says on the tin. Complete with palm-lined promenade, brimming with bars, cafes and restaurants. Hotels make the most of the beachfront and staying somewhere like the Mira Mola Apartments gives you great seaviews.

Whether you've gone all inclusive or self catering, holidays in Figueretas spoil you rotten. You can get everything from Indonesian to Italian to plain old English cuisine throughout the resort. And a 5 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk gets you to the tucked away tapas bars, posh nosh eateries and general hubbub of Ibiza Town. The nightlife here is world class, with most clubs not kicking off until the wee small hours.

Figueretas, on the other hand, keeps things quieter. Stroll along the promenade, through the hippy stalls and the street artists painting portraits. Sip a pint in an English pub or drink in sangria and the passion of flamenco. Lively, but not loud, evenings are laidback in Figueretas
