All fairytale forests and craggy coves, Cap Salou has found the balancing point between away-from-it-all and in the thick of the action. It sits on the nose of Costa Dorada, on a rocky headland not quite long enough to be called a peninsular. And it's perfectly placed between Salou town and La Pineda, too. So it's got that 'miles from anywhere' feel despite being just a ten-minute bus ride from all kinds of bars, restaurants and water parks. The real talking point here, though, is its fabulous coastline. Scalloped with secluded coves, its shores are made for escaping the masses. A far cry from the busy beaches at Salou, you won't have to jostle for space here. Nor will the peace be disturbed by buzzing boats and jet skies. It's postcard pretty and so quiet you could easy lose hours at a time dozing on the sand. In short, this is the kind of place where super-sized sunglasses and designer dresses are ditched in favour of walking boots, bikinis and a good book. And come night time, things stay firmly in the slow lane with little more than a handful of restaurants vying for your attention. One thing's for sure: it's easy to fall for the sleepy charms of Cap Salou.
