Sitting pretty in gorgeous green countryside, this holiday hideaway is stylish, spacious and delightfully secluded. Built in the 1960's, the first thing that hits you about it is its unusual architectural style. With a distinct Mediterranean feel, the villa consists of three igloo-shaped buildings.

Cool and comfortable inside with a light and airy feel, the decor is charmingly traditional. We're talking whitewashed walls and rustic wooden furniture. Yet there are all the mod cons you'd expect to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The main building is slightly separate from the other two. With an open-plan layout, you'll find the main living area here, which has two sofas, a dining area and a fully-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen with eating space. There are also one double and a single bedroom and a bathroom. Step outside and you'll find a pretty terrace, idyllic for al fresco dining.

Just a few steps from here are the other buildings. One has a double bedroom and a small wc, the second has a single bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. And the garden outside here has a laundry area with a washing machine and another restful veranda with a hammock. The real piece de resistance though has to be the sparkling square pool, which is in the beautiful gardens, blazing with colourful bougainvillea. Flanked by sunbeds and a gazebo it's the kind of place you want to sit for hours and soak up the golden silence. Oh, and the sea views from here are awe-inspiring. Wonderful for families with older children or groups of friends, this remarkable country villa is the ultimate Sicilian escape.
