An introduction to Agriturismo Villa Dafne
The Villa Dafne, originally an old converted farmhouse, has grown to become one of the more recognised farm holiday spots in Sicily and enjoys a stunning setting amid a beautiful landscape. As is the surrounding countryside, the village of Alia is picturesque, with its winding alleys and low, earth coloured houses. The breeding of cattle and the cultivation of vegetable gardens using traditional methods means the chef, Lino, uses genuine products in the exquisite country cooking at Villa Dafne.
The ancient and tasty recipes of Nonna (Grandmother) Giovanna, also go down a treat. On Sundays, Villa Dafne is also a popular venue for lunch and organises the preparation of ricotta (zabbinata) for all the guests. The agriturismo's bedrooms are tastefully furnished in traditional style and afford great views over the nearby valley. This is a popular venue for the locals to celebrate Sunday lunch, holidays and other typical ceremonies such as weddings.
From the property's terrace you can sit and admire views of the surrounding countryside and enjoy its peaceful atmosphere. There is also an extremely inviting swimming pool where guests can cool down and relax with a drink on the adjoining terrace in the warmer months.
