The Marianthi is about as down to earth as you can get. For starters, the friendly atmosphere hits you from the moment you arrive. And as there are just under 30 apartments, you're never treated like a room number here. The welcoming team make you feel right at home from check in to check out. Then there's the fact that it's so laid-back. It's certainly not the place for high polished glam and nor does it aspire to be. It's somewhere to pull up in the slow lane and do very little.
As for the pool, it must be one of the largest in Pefkos. Sunk into a roomy terrace with plenty of sun beds and a poolside bar, it's impossible not to come to a halt here. It's the views that get top marks out here, though. Not only can you see tree tops in every shade of green, the vistas stretch right out over Pefkos to the twinkling seas.
If you fancy a change of scene, you don't need to worry about hiring a car while you're here. Everything's within walking distance. Spend some down time on the soft golden sands, which are just a mile away. Stick a pin in the map and explore the surrounding countryside. And for shops, bars and restaurants, it's a five minute stroll into picture-postcard Lindos.
On the accommodation front, you get a taste of the real Greece. Sat on a hillside, the little blocks look like they've been plucked straight from Santorini with their sugar-cube design. Inside, they're basic and minimalist with traditional dark wood furnishings, tiled floors and whitewashed walls. And they don't scrimp on the space, either with a kitchenette and lounge area. Another huge plus is that they all have a balcony or terrace that makes the most of those stirring views.
Add to the mix a handy onsite mini-market and a few bars opposite that swing until long after lights out and you've hit the jackpot at the Marianthi.
